Sugar is everywhere. It’s in practically all Our food. In breakfast yogurts to the breakfast cereal we wash down with a flavor-of-the-month Frappuccino.
Although we know it’s not good for us in excess, it’s also so hard to resist. That’s because eating sugar lights up our brains’ dopamine receptors (the same ones that trigger drug addiction), making us feel fantastic—and eager for another one. As sporty women our sugar problem is even stickier, as we rely on gels and energy drinks to fuel and recover from bootcamp and training.
Sadly doing sports does not make you immune from the detrimental health effects of eating too much refined sugar. The nearly 122 pound of added sugar that each Dutchie consumes a year increases our risks of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, depression, and sleep disorders. That’s Why excersise and Working out helps.
But even healthy people should trim their daily intake of added sugar to less than 25 grams per day, as recommended by the World Health Organization.
I got ill last year and decided to quit sugar it was so Damn HARD! But I did and it felt good, better than before but HARIBO is still My friend!
One in a while I go out off My way and diet to cheat. And it feels so good!
Whats your thought on sugar?
