Celebration of Life and Friendship (Eng/ Esp)

My friend Nancy is a very special person to me. For that, an introduction is necessary; I met her about 30 years ago, at my job, a whole lifetime. By the time I joined there, as a newcomer, she had already spent years in the place; she was one of the people who taught me how to work and guided me in many other things, and supported me in many more on a personal level. With her, I have shared moments of joy and also of sadness; we have laughed and cried together. She retired before me a few years ago, but we haven't lost touch; we always meet up again for walks, birthdays, special occasions; that's why our friendship has transcended into a more familial relationship.

So much so that one of my other friends who also worked with her, named Mabel, and I call her mother, because that's what she means to us. In the cover photo I present to you, my dear friend Adelaida is also there, but let's start in order: the first one smiling broadly from right to left is Mabel, second is me, third is my dear mother Nancy, and next to her is my smiling Adelaida; we all worked together at the same place for several years, so we have many stories to tell and remember.

On this occasion, the reason for our gathering was precisely to visit our dear Nancy, who is currently recovering. That's why, during our toast to her health, she did it with her respective juice. She gave us quite a scare, but thank God she is much better now. She was very happy with our visit, and so were we. We spent an afternoon full of anecdotes and catching up on our respective lives. It was very pleasant to laugh like in the old days, now with a few more years on all of us, but happy to be together and in good health. That's why I wanted to share this very special visit with you and thus immortalize this moment, with a great reason to celebrate life and friendship. Greetings, dear friends!

Mi amiga Nancy es una persona muy especial para mí. Para ello es necesaria una introducción; a ella la conocí hace 30 años más o menos, en mi trabajo, toda una vida. Para cuando entré allí, nueva, ella ya tenía sus años en el lugar; fue una de las personas que me enseñó a trabajar y quien me guio en muchas otras cosas y me apoyó en otras tantas más a nivel personal. Con ella he compartido momentos de alegría y también de tristeza; hemos reído y llorado juntas. Ella se jubiló primero que yo ya hace unos cuantos años, pero no hemos perdido el contacto; siempre nos hemos reencontrado, para paseos, cumpleaños, fechas especiales; es por ello que nuestra relación de amistad ha trascendido ya a una relación más familiar.

Tanto así que una de mis otras amigas que también trabajó junto a ella, llamada Mabel, y yo le decimos madre, porque eso significa ella para nosotras. En la foto de portada que les presento, está también mi querida amiga Adelaida, pero empecemos con el orden: la primera que sale muy sonriente de derecha a izquierda es Mabel, de segunda estoy yo, de tercera mi querida madre Nancy y a su lado mi sonriente Adelaida; todas nosotras trabajamos juntas en su momento en el mismo lugar y por varios años, así que tenemos muchas historias que contar y que recordar.

En esta ocasión el motivo de nuestra reunión fue precisamente visitar a nuestra querida Nancy, quien se encuentra por estos días convaleciente, por eso ella en nuestro brindis a la salud de ella, lo hacía con su respectivo jugo, nos dio un buen susto, pero gracias a Dios ya se encuentra mucho mejor, se alegro mucho por nuestra visita y nosotras con ella; pasamos una tarde llena de anécdotas y poniéndonos al día con nuestras respectivas vidas fue muy agradable reír como antaño, ahora con unos cuantos años más todas pero felices de estar todas juntas y en bienestar, es por ello que quise compartirles esta visita tan especial y así inmortalizar este momento y con un gran motivo de celebración por la vida y la amistad, saludos queridos amigos!
