Su historia es contada en diversas formas o de diferentes maneras, pero en conclusión, nació como una leyenda y se ha convertido en uno de los grandes mitos de Venezuela. El cuento por decirlo de alguna manera mas conocido por mi y en torno a mi familia, es que en la época de la conquista, cuando llegaron los españoles ha invadir nuestras tierras, también se dio mucho la mezcla de las razas y entre esos casos, el de un cacique de los indios Caquetíos.
Quien tuvo un amorío con una mujer blanca y de esa relación nació una niña blanca con los ojos claros, mas hermosos que se hubieran visto. El chamán del pueblo, le dijo al cacique que esa niña traería desgracias al pueblo, por que era tal su belleza que el dios del rio Anaconda demandaba su sacrificio para el. El padre ante esta sentencia de muerte a su hija, la escondió en secreto y le puso unos guardianes para que su hija estuviese segura y no fuese vista por nadie mas.
Pero un día, ya la niña convertida en una hermosa adolescente en un descuido de sus guardianes, fue al río y allí por primera vez vio su belleza en el reflejo del agua, pero junto con ella el dios Anaconda, también la vio y la tomó. Se decía que el la había ahogado entre sus aguas, pero al tiempo se vio a la niña convertida en una hermosa mujer, montada en una Danta, totalmente desnuda, era tal su majestuosidad y belleza, que los animales, ríos, arboles y tierras le servían, se sabia de su sabiduría y de su gran amor por todas las especies y personas.
Se convirtió en la madre de la naturaleza de los animales y de los indios, al punto, que todo los que estos le pidieran haciéndole cualquier ofrenda, en su lugar de origen, que son las montañas de Sorte ubicadas en el estado Yaracuy en Venezuela, les era concedido. Incluso fuera de sus tierras. Así fue creciendo su popularidad entre propios y extraños, hasta nuestros dias.
