The World Biggest Helicopter ever made - Mil Mi-26 ( NATO call it Halo), A Soviet Union/ Russian heavy transport helicopter, the largest ever made. Manufactured by Rostvertol design by Mil Moscow Helicop Plant , where first flight 14 December 1977, introduce in 1983. Use by the Russian Air Force, Aeroflot, Ukrainian Air Force, Indian Air Force ; Number ever built 316.
The Halo's power and payload capacity is more than twice that of the U.S Army's workhorse CH-47 Chinook helicopter.
As of 2016, the Mi-26 still holds the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale world record for the greatest mass lifted to 2,000 metres (6,562ft) - 56,768.8 kilograms (125,153.8lb) on a flight in 1982
