One of the perks of my job is being involved with green coffee from all around the world, it is supplied mostly in sacks of 60kg weight.
Inside the sacks are the green coffee beans, in this raw form the beans are quite stable and can last for years. Before we can drink the coffee, we need to roast the green beans - turning them the more familiar brown colour.
Some sacks can be quite plane with just basic information on, others are more colourful
The above are not sacks, only one green coffee origin comes in wooden barrels like this - Jamaican Blue Mountain which is very, very expensive.
This is just a small selection of the coffees I have dealt with, at any one time I will have around 45 different sacks available from different areas of the world to sell the coffee green for people to roast themselves - as well as roasting the coffee myself.
