Buckcherry "Everything"
from "15" (Universal, 2005)
Recorded by Calisay
You use to love some bands. Some of them use to resist to you to see them live. It's what happened to me with Buckcherry: when I first listened to its first album, I went crazy for this band. The essence of sleaze rock updated for the 90's & 00's! It was awesome. But as I was telling you before, I hadn't had the chance to see them live... until 2011 in Barcelona , 12 years after I listened to them for first time. Depending on the conert you are attending, you are more or less nervous. I use to be nervous when I'm waiting to the bands who I've never seen before. It was the case with Buckcherry concert. We had to drive 100km. from our hometown. Actually we were some friends coming from different cities in Girona's province, so we first met in a street of a little town. We call this place "Rock & Roll Street".
When we all went into one of the cars, you know, we turned up the volume of the cd player and Buckcherry was sounding there. We were all excited. It was soon in the afternoon as we wanted to arrive early to stay near the stage. For the ones who have been at Sala Bikini in Barcelona, there's an entrance with something like a tunnel until you arrive to the venue (after going down some stairs). Since they got our tickets in the entrance, we started to run to be in the first rows.
We couldn't be at the first row, but a couple of rows behind so it was really good as Bikini's sound system is not so good if you are in the first or second row (P.A. is behind these rows).
The wait was horrible, the prohibitive prices for beers didn't help us... but finally the band and Josh Todd came to stage. All went crazy! The venue was almost full, about 700-800 people and everybody started to jump with the first song "Dead" from its 2010 album "All Night Long". Then they came "Rescue Me" and "All Night Long". With the 4th song, "Evertything" I took my recording camera and recorded the video that you can watch above. You can see how excited was everybody. After recording that song, I though that was enough recording for that night, that I had to live the concert as it was last night on earth. And I did. And many people did!
All Buckcherry's hits went down one after another. "Next To You", "Lit Up", "Crazy Bitch", "Crushed"... It was the sortest concert in my live. Well, not the shortest one in time (yes, it was also short, about 75-80 minutes) but short because we were so excited and all happened so fast.
Here you can see the last song of the concert "Crushed" recorded by Youtube user Ivan González
I'm somewhere over there, in the first rows!
When they left the stage after a long applause and, you know, that kind of chants (here we like a lot that primitive chant "oéh, oéh, oéh, ooéh, oooéh") we all looked at each other and talked about what crazy it had been. We needed to go outside (after trying to collect some picks, sticks or any kind of stuff) and breath some fresh air before going back home. Another 100km. drive, going to bed at 02:00 a.m. and get up at 07:00h. to go to work. Thats rock & roll!!
