Whoever said that weekends are days to refuel our soul and to be grateful for the blessings that we have is absolutely more than right. Nothing is as fulfilling as a weekend spent on a good beach, with good food, and with the best people in our lives.
This weekend's experience I'm sharing is my family's beach moment at Orongan Beach, San Remegio, Cebu. Beach moments for us are times that aren't just for swimming and fun, inhaling the sea breeze, but it's more on strengthening our family bond.
Now that we are growing and having families of our own, we, siblings wanted to spend our weekends with each other and with our parents in all possible ways, and going to the beach is on top of the list!
FUN FUN FUN AT ORONGAN
Orongan beach is one of the beautiful beaches lying on the longest shoreline of Cebu- San Remigio. Yes, it is as beautiful as the others but what made this beach stand out among the others is the tropical vibes it gives because of its coconuts and the art design on the stems of the trees.
There were also plenty of hammocks tied on the coconut tree. So beachgoers can lie down, enjoy the view and even fall asleep.
We headed early to Orongan to enjoy the beach before the crowds arrived. We prepared all the food we needed. When we arrived at the beach, my father together with my brothers prepared the food while I and my sister Honey strolled around the beach looking for some instagrammable spots.
As we strolled around, this long shoreline of Orongan, San Remegio didn't fail to amaze us! There are also plenty of cottages on the shore at a very affordable rent rate. As for the cottage, we chose the one beside the coconuts as the cottage is good for the family.
The place looks so lovely and vibrant because of the colorful flaglets and art that you can see around.
My favorite part of the beach is its swing hanging on the coconuts. I had so much fun riding on it. For me, this is the most instagrammable spot on the beach. It gives the viewer a very island vibe.
FOOD FOOD FOOD!
My brothers grilled some meat, squid, and fish while my mother prepared the "Kilawin" raw seafood dish with vinegar and spices. As soon as we smelled the delicious meal, we hurriedly went back to the cottage to munch the food!
Our not so burnt squid. Haha! But in fairness, Mama's "Kilawin" is always the best!
A simple lunch like this on the beach with my favorite people is always the most delicious and satisfying. While eating we also had some fun talking and laughing as my brother started to crack some jokes. How I wish we could have beautiful and fun weekends like this always.
After eating, we then went swimming and enjoyed our time on the beach to the fullest. Sadly, I could no longer retrieve my pictures during our swimming time. But still the laughter and memories were vivid in my mind.
Some snaps!
I have plenty of these in my storage, but I'll be sharing only a few of them. These are my photos which I think describe how much I had fun at Orongan.
Truly, weekends spent like these is a fuel and energy booster in facing the workweek ahead.
Sometimes, we don't have to go too far away and grand places to relax, have fun and be energized, and get ready for the new week, because a simple moment on the beach together with our loved ones is more than enough strength to carry on.
That's it for today's blog beautiful people! Thank you for reading! Have a wonderful week ahead!
Stay safe.
