Coleman Tenaya Lake 8 Person Fast Pitch Instant Cabin Camping Tent
hello my name is Matt riggers and thisis my review of the Coleman Tenaya Lakefastpitch eight-person tent as you cansee in front of me here it's thisattractive large cabin style tent withwalls are almost vertical on the sideswhich actually makes for quite a bit ofample space in thereset this up a couple times in my yardjust to try it out and try a night ortwo with my toddlers in it I do say itis quite a spacious I've been prettyimpressed with a lot of aspects of itand I also have a couple concerns webought it off Amazon for about onehundred and fifty dollars and reallygiven it a try this summer let me giveyou a little tour of what it looks likehere on the inside so right away there'sa unique feature to this tent so we canunzip the tent and they actually hasincluded rigid tent poles that you placeinside the doorI believe the idea is then you have adoor that will stay open there's my sonElliot you can have a door he'll stayopen on its own and you can shut it andit's got velcro so if you just needed tojump in and out for a moment and didn'twant to zip it all the way shut youcould keep it shut that way I in theoryit sounds like a great idea in practiceit's not entirely that useful a littlebit of wind can blow the door inside ifI ever want to start buddy if I everwant to zip it shut sometimes these uhyou just these rain fly guards actuallyget in the way so it actually can bepretty difficult sometimes just to zipyour tent shut if you're trying to getin and out quick not a huge dealagain it's not better in theory than inpractice though inside my tent I've beenactually pretty impressed with a lot ofthings so inside my tent I'm aindividual it's about 6:1 there is amplespace above my head almost all the wayto the sidewall able to stand up verycomfortably they label this has an eightperson tent which if you've ever beententing before you know that that numberoftentimes is in slowfor what would be really comfortable ina specific tent but we can get verycomfortably to full-sizedair mattresses here in the tent from oneon each sidewe slept in it last night with myself mywife and our two young kids and we wouldhave had more space if we had other kidsor someone else hanging out with us Ione of the other unique things aboutthis tent is that it has a closet Iwouldn't buy a tent specifically forhaving a closet but I could see I mightbe useful to hang up coats it does comewith a shoe rack of sorts so you couldyou can put your shoes in or other itemsI believeneat neat idea sometimes I wish it wasactually closer to the door though a lotof times we are camping and you need totake your shoes offyou want to want to haul them across allyour beds for your coat or things likethatso again interesting idea I'm not sure Iwould shelled out extra money for it inparticular one of the corners that hasthe zipper to run an extension cord intothe tent which is handy that's got someof these big windows little pockets justcome with a divider privacy dividerwhich is which is nice and welcomed andthen the top of the tent is all screenedin so if you don't have the rain fly onactually becomes quite quite the Sunporch all in all I'm pretty impressedwith the tent the size of the tent thecomfort of the tent it's been reallygood for family camping I wouldn'tnecessarily imagine as a tent that youwant to do any kind of hiking to takeback somewhere it is a heavy tent soit's more for car camping and give yousome more information about setting itup here in a minute but it does not goup in 9 minutes as it advertises maybeand maybe if you had three or fourindividuals helping you could for myselfit probably takes me 20 minutes halfhour maybe even longer if there's somewind or something like that prettysturdy construction these theseheavy-duty poles are on the sides andthen that the quick part of it isactually the top part of the canopywhich I can show you laterone of my concerns about this tenthowever is is the sheer tension that itplaces on the sidewalls seems to bereally tight on thisbeam's i'm seems to be relativelyreinforced on the inside but a little alittle disturbing to me in terms of longterm strength edge attack interesting Ihaven't used it in the rain yet I haveseen some professional tests of the windand rain durability and does receivegood scores but I do have my ownsuspicions when the rain fly does notcome down very far so when it rainswonder what's my chances of actuallystaying fully dry in thereall in all a pretty good tent I kind ofwonder if there would it should havebeen another couple lines holding thecanopy down over there the tent pegsthat it comes with a pretty standardwhich is basically I might as well justthrow them away they've been the momentyou put them in the ground other thingsthat the tent does not come with that ifyou are new to camping that you need tobe really you need to really think aboutis you do need a ground cover which isoftentimes a tarp that you placeunderneath the tent that does a couplethings that keeps the tent safe fromrocks and sharp abrasions protects itthat way and then also if it rains thatit provides an opportunity for the tentbottom not to sit in water if I wasexpecting rain I really should havefolded this and underneath it so thatrain wouldn't wouldn't wouldn't pull onso you would want it actually underneaththe tent no pitching out because I wouldjust cause rain to run underneath mytent all in all pretty happy with itI wanted to give tenting a try with ourtoddlers this summer I think we're goingto give it a go it's really amplycomfortable has a nice little floor matthat it comes with that stakes downwhich is nice a couple things that thetenant might be missing that I'd belooking for if I was considering anothertent I do like tents that come withscreen porch stereos screen porch areasare a great place to just sit if you'reworried about bugs or if it's rainingand they're also really handy as a kindof an in-between place where you takeoff your shoes when you're when you'reentering your tentobviously this tent does not have thatsort of entrance anybody but largelyhappy with a lot of parts of this tentI'll go ahead and take off the rain flyand show you what it looks like withoutthat here's what the tent looks likewithout the rain fly on I almost alwayswill camp for the rain fly on becausewe're using my climate rain is ice apossibility or doing warnings and Idon't want to wake up with a wet faceanyway so there is the inside of thetent look into the topI believe what makes this a technicallythey're past pitch tent is is that thisbig long contraption up here at the topthis big multi contraption is all onepiece tent that snaps together so thesearen't people six different poles thisis one unit that are all strung togetherbungee cords inside and fold up togetherso yeah perhaps that is what speeds upbuilding the tent each of these verticalsupports these these heavier duty polesare are individual pieces and theyconnect at this part here that'spermanently sewn to the tent again not abad contraption the poles do feel prettysturdy and some of my experiences withother Coleman tents it's nice to know ifI'm able to get apart if somethingbreaks issue with this fastpitchcontraption as if say this pull breaksit looks like I might have to replacethe whole thingwhich is a little bit of a stressful tohold the whole top support system theremight be a way to do it but again Iwouldn't just be able to purchase oneone short pole in order to replace itanyways a heavy-duty pretty prettypretty impressed with that none of thepoles are flexing way too strong or waytoo hard which is sometimes been aconcern of mine another Coleman tentthis front one perhaps bends a littlemore than that I'd like in terms of whatit looks like for pressure on the polebut for the most part pretty solid tenthere's a look at the poles that comewith the Coleman tinea and this spiderylooking thing is is the top part thatgoes to come over the campunder the canopy attest I believe that'swhere it gets the fastpitch name isthat's all one piece that stampstogether these next two want two redstripes are the vertical poles the frontin the back of the tent these four arethe four corners of the tent this piecehere is to build the closet of the tentthese little ones are help with adoringto make a coat hanger in the temple yesthere's a lot pieces there it's reallypretty straightforward once you get itall in all really happy is a tent interms of being fast pitch for one dadtrying to put together it's probablygoing to take least 20 minutes the firsttime it's not longer it is helpful tohave an extra set of hands as this bigax tent turns into a parachute real fastwhen you have any wind whatsoever outhere anyways if you get the tent hopeyou enjoy it and have a good summerEnglish (auto-generated)
