This rendition of the Prepper Cook-Off Challenge wrapped up a couple days ago and it's time to hand out the rewards. This was the first time there were less qualified entries than prizes, which was a little disappointing. I suspect the lack of interest is due to the downtrend in the price of STEEM. Still, I enjoyed all the entries and definitely learned a few things!
Results
Due to the low number of entries, and difficulty judging, I removed a couple of prize categories. I did not, however, lower the total prize package. Here is the new prize breakdown; note that there was a tie for 3rd place.
Prizes
- 1st Prize - 10 STEEM + 15 SBI
- 2nd Prize - 7 STEEM + 10 SBI
- 3rd Prize #1 - 5 STEEM + 5 SBI
- 3rd Prize #2 - 5 STEEM + 5 SBI
- Sasquatch Award - 4 STEEM + 4 SBI
First Place
- Survival: Bamboo Cooking Pot

Second Place
- Harvesting From the Wilds of Northern Saskatchewan - Part 2 - Entry to a Prepper Cook Off Challenge
Third Place
- Learning from Failure, Foraging a new skill
- chocolate Groundnut recipe foraging once again!

Honorable Mention
While not an actual entry this interesting story, filled with foraging tips, was inspired by the challenge. I figured it was worthy of an honorable mention.
- Surviving in the Smoky Mountains
Sasquatch Award
And the winner is...
The award you have all been waiting for is for the most bad ass forager. I think the winner might even give Bear Grylls a run for his money. He chose to cook wild Taro root, which is poisonous on the outside edges, in bamboo over a fire. That is some real bushcraft if I ever seen any.

Conclusion and Feedback
Congratulations to everyone who participated! I hope you all had fun and are eager to return for future Prepper Cook-Off Challenges. Also, feel free to leave any suggestions you might have below. I can't guarantee I'll implement everything but I will take everything into consideration.
