Recently I wrote about what to expect from Real Madrid in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, and I emphasized on the team performing greatly even without Cristiano Ronaldo marching with them.
Real Madrid defeated Roma in their last ICC fixture on Wednesday morning. Real Madrid won two out of three losing one to Manchester United.
In absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid Marco Asencio and Gareth Bale stepping up in front of goal to give Real Madrid the required victory. Both players scored in Madrid victory over Juventus and repeated the same against Roma.
Two minutes into the first half of the match, Marco Asencio gave Real Madrid the lead, Gareth Bale doubled the UEFA Champions League winners lead thirteen minutes after the first goal. The first half ended 2-0 in favor of Real Madrid.
Roma stepped up in defense in the second half blocking Real Madrid crucial chances. Seven minutes into the end of the match, Kevin Strootman gave Roma a consolation goal. The match ended 2-1.
Real Madrid will be looking forward to play against Atletico Madrid at the Uefa Super Cup final on the 15th of August.
