On Tuesdays I typically meet my parents for lunch and today was no different. We decided on a place called The Tipsy Vegan (https://www.thetipsyvegan.co.uk). We ate there a while back when it first opened and I was a little dissapointed because I felt the portion sizes were small and didn't represent good value for money. I gave my feedback to the owners and they were very receptive and offered me a discount for my next visit. Recently I'd heard good things about it from some of my friends and decided now was the time to return.
This time I certainly wasn't disappointed! The restaurant was full for a weekday lunchtime, which is always a good sign. I browsed the menu and eventually decided upon the fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce. The "fish" was beer battered smoked tofu and it had a nice flavour and texture to it. The chips were right up there with the best I've ever had! All in all a very nice meal and more filling than it looked. There are a lot more things on the menu which sound nice, so I'm sure it won't be long until I return. I'm not used to having so many delicious options to choose from.

Afterwards, I headed up to a wholefoods shop called Rainbow (http://www.rainbowwholefoods.co.uk) which I frequently visit to pick up a few bits and pieces. Today I got a mixture of things, some of which I've had before and some other new things to try. Amongst my purchases was a pizza made by One Planet, the UKs first vegan frozen pizza company which is based in my home city of Norwich (https://www.oneplanetpizza.com). I wanted the "Three Sheese" but there were none available so I settled for the Mediterranean Roasted Vegetable one. The pizzas are very popular and often the shops which sell them are in short supply.
I also picked up an egg free garlic mayo made by Plamil (https://www.plamilfoods.co.uk) which I love and can honestly say tastes better than normal mayonnaise made with eggs. Other things I've had before and bought again are the Clearspring wide udon noodles, and the tinned thai green curry. The new things to try are the "Hippeas" salt and vinegar flavour chickpea crisps, the red fruit soya yogurt, the vegan green pesto and the organic cola bottles, which I've already finished eating... :p
