Body piercing practice is another art I see as special just like the body tattoo. I see some individuals who have the two but the common in my area is ear piercings. Before I get down to exposing everyone to my thoughts about body piercings and how it's practiced around me, I would love to give everyone a clear view of the history of this amazing art.
The History
Body piercings are a very old art. Its origin can be dated back to thousands of years ago. Back then, it formed part of the foundations of different cultures and tribes where it served a variety of functions. Body piercings back then had some spiritual, religious attributes and even personal beauty motives.
Let's get deep into the history of this amazing practice, body piercings. Back then in about 3000 BCE, In Mesopotamia, the cradle of civilization, there existed a group of individuals who made a significant impact on the history of body piercing. One special thing about these people was that they used precious stones for their body piercings and the major parts of their body piercings were nose and ears. They did these for personal reasons and also to acknowledge their deities.
Body piercing art can also be traced to ancient Egypt and Rome. The Egyptians believed body piercings had religious significance while the people of ancient Rome practiced this art mainly for personal adornments. These people didn't only pierce their noses and ears, they extended to piercing their navels, genitals and nipples with precious materials.
My Personal Views
Personally I don't fancy body piercings. Though I have an uncle who has tattoos and also pierced his ears, I can't dream of myself having body piercings for any reason. To answer the question in the prompt, I would say that body piercings don't limit job opportunities if not "abused". What do I mean by the word "abused", an individual who pierced his nose, ears and almost every exposable part with numerous ornaments would look irritable to most people including some of their bosses at work. But if done at a minimal level, like having to pierce only the nose or ear with a few or one materials, that seems a bit acceptable by some people who don't accept it though. "Excessive" or "abused" body piercings can make one look informal and can limit one's job opportunities in places where body piercings are considered informal.

I have never had any form of body piercings even from my past but it's a normal practice in my country and most parts of the world for ladies to pierce their ears. Every female in my household has ear piercings. The aim of these body piercings is for personal adornments. The females in my area, most of them my friends, have numerous piercings on the ears but the common ones are single or double piercings. Culturally in my environment, ear piercing is a common art for females but it's now adopted by many males. The males now do it with more "styles" than the females in my environment.
Since it's not a normal practice for the males to pierce their ears in my environment, the males often carry out these ear piercings during their adult age and from what I heard, it's a very painful act as one would surely bleed. But for the females whose ear practice is a common thing, they carry out this article at a young age when the pains would not be much felt and would be properly taken off.

Ear piercings are a very stylish art and are practiced by a lot of individuals. But my parents who raised me are against males piercing their body parts, that's the major reason I didn't fancy this style from the beginning.
