This collard is incredible plant! She survived the already 2nd year & now blossoms abundantly with a bunch of yellow flowers which smell so nice & with that fine color & smell attracts many bees, several species of bumblebees & butterflies... It is such a lovely site in my garden. Momentarily, besides the wild strawberries, it is the only plant blossoming.
Some of these collard plants & its flowers are of the same height as I am or higher! I feel so happy when I see the yellowish site full of buzzing!
After flowering, the seeds will start to mature & after I pick them, I just cut off the branch where the flower was growing & the plant continues to grow in the other direction giving new young branches & leaves. Along all these activities & life phases, the plant is constantly providing with the new leaves which I mostly use for salads & smoothies.
Amazing plant! I love it!
