Welcome once again to my blog, where I regularly write interesting and diversified aspects about technology, education, economy, philosophy and topics that are of interest to the users that integrate this beautiful community.
In this opportunity I want to give my opinion about the approach we have about technology, but at the same time some misconceptions that are very natural in thinking and understanding when it comes to technology.
To conceptualize about the way we conceive technology it is very important to first talk about the way certain information sources are propagated within today's society and that they make technology understood in a very different way than perhaps it should be seen depending on the approach of each person who analyzes it.
Very often we are informed by the media such as radio, written press, television about the influence that technology has in today's society, but this approach that we perceive from the communicative environment that surrounds us is ambiguous if we analyze it from the point of view that technology is not synonymous with modernism in its fullness, Certainly every time an invention about some device or some sophisticated equipment comes out, be it in the automotive industry or a new equipment in power generation makes us think that technology is synonymous with cutting edge, but if we analyze this would be the new technological advances, even more the technology has a long history that makes have a different approach about the term: technology.
What is having some sense of impact in our lives with the day to day is the new technological advances, however we must think that the same perception of technology should have the societies of the past, so it would be important to ask today:
What will happen with the technology of the future?
As a natural law of the course followed by many natural phenomena in our universe, everything is subject to evolution. However, we must not close our ideas to a standstill or even a step backwards in terms of technological innovation, since for technology to continue surprising us there must always be natural resources available and logically the ingenuity of the person applying it.
When I refer to a long-term future, I mean thousands of years, in which conditions may be different, technology may evolve into other forms of conception than those we have today, but what I am sure of is that during certain intervals of time it may suffer from periods of stagnation as a result of possible crises in the availability of resources and conditions in the development of humanity, which is ultimately the human being the entity available to continue developing technology.
Finally, the perhaps somewhat erroneous idea of how we conceive technology is focused on the fact that when we hear the word technology we think of state-of-the-art computers, spaceships, artificial satellites, power plants and the invention of large machines in the order of robotics and artificial intelligence.
This approach is acceptable but not completely, and I say this for the simple fact that for example there are simple and very everyday objects that we can easily associate with technology, these objects can be:
- Books.
- Clothes.
- Pencil.
- Table.
- Bicycle.
The way in which we must consider the most common, simple and daily objects as technological elements is because they must have had their origins as a result of some discovery, any element that represents a utility after its discovery or invention represents an element that must be in the order of technology.
Certainly history plays a preponderant role in technology, since for today some invention or discovery is a high-tech technological element with avant-garde characteristics, however, for tomorrow it will be part of the technological history of everything that has been discovered I have invented to continue adding to that great collection of inventions that make up technology as we know it.
I will close this short analysis by highlighting the importance of classifying as technological everything that contributes usefulness and that at the time meant an invention or creation of someone who put all his or her ingenuity into providing us with the technology that at the time was a new technological aggregate, but that as time goes by will always continue to be technology, that although it is not state-of-the-art we can always benefit from it as long as we give it the correct use with sustainable characteristics, and that with this technology is always immersed in our lives.
