Yesterday, my husband and I went for a walk to make the most of the weekend. We went to one of our favorite places in Valencia, which is like our green lung. Negra Hipólita Park has a forest inside, a beautiful forest full of all kinds of trees—well, all kinds that exist here in Venezuela. Almost everywhere you look, you can find signs with detailed and important information about all the elements of this ecosystem, not only about the trees and the river that runs through the city, but also about the fauna, which is quite rich and diverse. Among the animals I saw were parrots, macaws, iguanas, and capybaras.
Ayer estuve dando un paseo junto a mi esposo para aprovechar el fin de semana, nos fuimos a uno de nuestros lugares favoritos en la ciudad de Valencia, ya que es algo así como nuestro pulmón verde. El parque negra Hipólita tiene un bosque en su interior, un bosque hermoso lleno de arboles de todas las clases, bueno, de todas las que hay aquí en Venezuela. En casi todas partes puedes encontrar carteles con información detallada e importante sobre todos los elementos de ese ecosistema, no solo de los árboles y el río que atraviesa la ciudad, sino de la fauna, la cuál es bastante rica y diversa, entre los animales que vi había: loros, guacamayas iguanas y chigüires o capibaras.
There's a tree that really caught my eye because it's like two trees in one, or a Siamese tree, with two thin trunks at the top but a single thick base. In fact, that tree was attracting everyone's attention. I don't know its name because, strangely enough, despite being one of the most beautiful and striking, it doesn't have any information or QR code like the others.
Hay un árbol que llamó poderosamente mi atención ya que es como si fuesen dos árboles en uno, o un árbol siamés, ya que arriba tiene dos troncos delgados pero una sola base gruesa. De hecho ese árbol llamaba la atención de todo el mundo, no sé como se llama porque extrañamente y a pesar de ser uno de los más bonitos y llamativos no tiene ninguna información ni código QR como los demás .
There's also a very pretty well—well, it's not a real well, it's more of a structure that looks like one. I like it because it gives the place a fairytale feel, especially since it's right in the middle of the forest. My husband and I strolled around that area for a while, reminiscing about when we were dating and used to go to that park on weekends when he came to town. Remembering those old times and getting away from our routine now and then is always good for us; it helps us feel refreshed, especially when we're surrounded by so much beautiful greenery.
También hay pozo muy bonito, bueno aunque no es un pozo de verdad, es una estructura que más bien simula ser un pozo, me gusta porque le confiere al lugar un aura de cuento de hadas, sobre todo porque está en pleno bosque. Mi esposo y yo paseamos un rato por esa área recordando los tiempos en que éramos novios e íbamos a ese parque a pasear los fines de semana cuando él venía a la ciudad. Recordar esos viejos tiempos y salirnos de la rutina de vez en cuando siempre nos viene bien para sentirnos renovados, y en especial cuando se está rodeados de tanta vegetación hermosa.
A little further on is the statue of the miraculous Virgin with her outstretched hands. It's a very popular spot, as you can see from the worn and polished material of the statue. I really like this place because it's located in a grotto, so in this area you only hear the wind rustling the tree branches and the murmur of water running in the grotto. And even though the Central Regional Highway runs alongside the park, the dense foliage of the trees prevents the sound of passing cars from disturbing the peace of the place.
Un poco más allá está la estatua de la virgen milagrosa con sus manos extendidas, es un sitio muy visitado, como se pueden dar cuenta al ver el material desgastado y pulido en la estatua . me gusta mucho este sitio porque está situado en una gruta, así que en esta área uno solo escucha el viento meciendo las ramas de los árboles y el rumor del agua corriendo en la gruta, y a pesar de que junto al parque está la autopista regional del centro, el tupido follaje de los arboles impide que el sonido de los carros pasando perturben la paz de ese lugar.
