Bobi the Bad
Dogs (and ok, I cannot tell a lie, cats) are my go-to
when too many cold cases (unsolved murders) get to me. A daily diet of upaid work updating and social-media-sharing details of horrific murders and missing persons....as the wise said to me,
True, that, and here is my #1 antidote:
Seriously. Just look at all these characters.
More than three dozen canines at a doggie day care in Ohio posed for a photograph that looks like it was taken by a dog with a selfie stick. sourc
But don't look at the source!
** Dogs on Death Row** shared this adorable "selfie"!!
Founded by Jodie Richers in 2007, DOGS ON DEATH ROW rescues, rehabilitates, and finds homes for unwanted dogs everywhere. | www.dodr.org | Nonprofit Organization
My happy antidote
to all those atrocities against humans turns into a reminder that animals, too, like these beautiful dogs, are abused, abandoned, killed, every day, thousands of beautiful, lovable, innocent, companionable fur babies--and penalties for animal cruelty amount to a slap on the wrist. See 's forthcoming novel "High Kill" for depressing true-life cases of torture and slaughter by tax-payer-supported county officials at "High Kill" animal shelters.
I cannot go there right now.
Let us revisit that Facebook photo and all the reader comments that make me smile.
Leslie Makin:
Grandpa in the back be like “back in my day we had to wait for the picture to be developed...”
vs Scott Reed:
The two sitting in the back are waiting to be frisked. Smelled like reefer.
Lori Milner
And the German Shepherd in the back right looks like he is on duty....working security at the party. Lol ❤️
Russell Lalevee
He is keeping the group in order.

There are dozens in my state, and probably at least a half dozen in every state in the Union. Here is 's:

Cruelty to Animals is a warning sign, a red flag waving,
that utter disregard for the lives of others is far too common in our world, and anyone who'd kick a dog is likely to kick the spouse and children as well. With the same inexorable progression as a gateway drug to the hard stuff, "mild" abuse all too often escalates to assault, battery, rape, murder, human trafficking, and disposal of dead bodies.
But that is the stuff of another post,
and my goal was to laugh at cute dogs today in order to escape the stories I read yesterday.
