After I tried the Blonde Saaz by Jacobsen, I wanted to try a new one from the same brewery.
Todays brew

Yakima IPA
Brewery: Jacobsen
Looks/smell
A murky (clouded), amber golden color. Very clear to see it is unfiltered.

You can almost see that this beer would be perfect for a steak.
The smell is almost exotic. Juice-like. Makes me look forward to the taste of it.
a look from above in the glass and in the bottle
Expectation
This beer is brewed with 4 hops from Yakima Valley in the US. The smell of it, mentioned above, makes me think this is a beer with a sweet taste. It sure has a fresh aroma about it.
Taste
Very fresh and with a hint of lemon... or grape. The following bitterness suggests that it's grape.
It has a very rich taste, the aftertaste stay in my mouth. A bitter aftertaste, in strong contrast to the light, fresh taste that hit my tongue when I tasted it.
They work very well together. The bitter aftertaste isn't too much but it stays for a loooong time, and the renewed taste of the fresh, juicy beer ends up renewing the well-balanced bitter aftertaste.
Too bad I haven't made a good steak to wnjoy to this good beer.
Characteristics
Fresh, exotic smell. Murky looks. A good taste with a hint of grape to keep the bitterness in your mouth for longer.
Beer in mind (see what I did there?!) that the bitterness is not too much. It is just enough, but stays in your mouth for longer than usual.
Score
●●●●○
4/5
A very good mix of freshness and bitterness, in near-perfect harmony.
I think, if this beer is enjoyed with a steak or other bbq food, it would easily get a perfect score (or at least 4.7/5)
