Dandelion with typical flowering in spring and summer months
Adult dandelion: summer and autumn. In winter it is rare because winds and rains often cause its seeds to be lost.
Wild carrot: Flowering at the end of September. It is unusual to find them at the beginning of January.
Centaurea nigrescens Willd: Flowering from June to September.
Lesser daisy: This plant flowers all year round. It is not unusual for it to flower in January but I liked the capture I was able to take.
Calendula suffruticosa Vahl : Flowering all year round. But there was a large number which is not normal for this time of the year.
Rose Geranium: Flowering from May to September.
Rose Geranium: Flowering from May to September.
Hello hivers,
Although we are in the middle of winter in Spain before the arrival of the big polar storm that we have had this last week, I have taken a walk around the house I have in the village and I had the pleasant surprise to see that some of the wild flowers had already bloomed.
On the other hand, walking around the neighbourhood I came across some very flowering geraniums. This type of plant in my latitude blooms between May and September. In January this flowering is not normal.
This autumn and the beginning of winter has been unusually mild in northern Spain and I think this has altered the biorhythms of the plants and flowers. It is unusual to see such blooms.
This early flowering has made me reflect and at the same time saddened me because I see that little by little we are provoking a climate change that is affecting all living species and I believe that a large part of humanity is not aware of the disastrous consequences that we will have sooner rather than later and that many latitudes of the planet are already suffering.
Let us all help the planet.
