Though we cannot totally eradicate bias, it is possible to minimize its effects by avoiding teaching our children our own biases. The reason for this is because children learn their biases usually at home.
Children's minds are very malleable at young age. They usually copies our actions. Copying is the best way to learn. Either it is language, gestures, mannerism and even behaviours, children can copy all of them.
Unfortunately, it also means that they can easily copy our bad behaviours and biases. That is why it is important to watch our actions in front of them.
It is the parents responsibility to make sure there children grow as responsible members of society. Teaching them our bad traits and biases is certainly not one of them.
Teachers, also needs to teach children to avoid biases. Biases in school is often the cause of bullying. When a child does not like another child, it is most likely because he or she has bias against that person.
