Welcome to the Steemit Chamber Of Commerce!
Owner Introduction
Hi, I am Diamond Sutherland, AKA . My idea for this Chamber of Commerce actually began back in March 2017. I am starting from scratch, in all aspects of my life.
In the past, I have had much success by seeking out and asking for guidance from a local chamber of commerce (CoC). But this time (in a new area), they would not allow me to use their services, until I paid the yearly dues. Most CoC's dues range from $250 a year to over a $1,000 per year.
Had I been in a normal life setting and someone come to me, I would not have rejected them for lack of current funds. As an entrepreneur, I pride myself on seeing the future value of an item and am willing to take a stake at the loss of the immediate cash in hand because I want to help others improve their world.
Steemit Chamber of Commerce -- Disrupting And Growth
I will not be designing this CoC based on past models. Yes, there are some statements that are important:
- Vision
- Mission
- Value
But I want to bring my knowledge base to all. There will be NO DUES. And I don't like the words contributions either. Yes, the chamber needs earnings -- I want to devise ways to do get there without it being a requirement.
One such way is using my time to help others develop a business blueprint, either through posts or through scheduled time with me. My time is worth $50 to $100 per hour (on average), for my business brainstorming and development sessions. I will be offering two hours, per Steemian (average of two per week).
Translation, there will be a waiting list. If you want to support the CoC, you can jump the line for $100 SBD, for two hours. The Steemians that use my services, free of charge, are welcome to support the CoC, at a later date. My goal is simple -- get folks the tools that will help them be successful.
And There Are Many Tools To Come -- Including, But Not Limited To, Networking Tools
As I create the blueprint for the Steemit Chamber Of Commerce, one of the essential things is getting the word out. I have not been able to attend networking events, and I noticed a lot of us, in Steemit.chat, had been substituting this for lack of being out in the world.
I have several Steem API ideas, but I was a bit derailed in that thought by Tuck's recent post:
However, I want to play a more active business role because this amazing platform has potential to change worlds.
-- Value for Value. You know the brilliant minds that you have attracted. Isn't it time to reward those that can bring this platform to the amazing places that it deserves to go?
Now is the time to disrupt and build something amazing
