The grace of healing, is the provision of what we need in order to survive more than 3 minutes on this planet.
The unremarked, yet remarkable thing is that we are healed every moment, from infections of deadly sort, every moment we breathe. Surrounded by deadly bacteria, filmed with invasive viri, we fight them off all the time with a nonchalance that would humble and embarrass us if we realized how ungrateful we are for this miracle of healing.
This world, meant for such beauty and poetry, is broken, and as such is filled with discord, pain and illness. It’s jagged edges brush unavoidably up against us, wounding and cutting our hearts, our souls, as well as our bodies.
The result – death, illness and the self-perpetuating tradition of “wounded people wounding those whom they love the most.” Hurt people, do indeed, hurt people.
These deep wounds result in a life of need.
For we are unable, even with the best of medicine, to heal ourselves. Gratefully, grace happened.
God, out of His great love for us, deeper than our deepest wounds, provided for our healing. Because it is a part of His very nature, He heals us body, soul and spirit. Grace! Healing Grace!
These healing needs, when met, will take me further than the end of the day, will fill me with more than a breath of air, and will strengthen me in battles that have farther reaching impact than defeating a virus or cancer.
Yeah. Yeah. He healed us, but don't get me wrong.
I am referring to healing our soul. Our very spirit.
But that's not all I'm referring to.
I am convinced that His grace heals those, yes. But He has paid for the redemption and healing of our bodies, too. By His stripes we were healed should not by set aside as being limited to spiritual things. He paid dearly for the healing of our bodies, just as completely as He did our eternal souls.
The challenge is in the receiving it. He offers. We need only to believe it, and receive it.
The answer is here. It is available. It is able and ample.
Grace will always quench a thirst that is soul deep. And it is the overflowing provision for what we need to become spiritually, emotionally, and physically mature, complete, and wise.
