Syzran city, Samara region. On the outskirts, in the industrial zone, there is a large abandoned facility - the Syzran Technical Carbon Plant. The unofficial name is "Soot". Mostly already destroyed and plundered. At the moment, most likely it has already been completely destroyed. The photos in the post were taken last summer.
The plant appeared relatively recently, in the mid-1960s. Produced carbon black - this is a raw material, soot, is used as a component in the manufacture of automobile tires and other rubber products. The plant has received many awards for its production.
In the 90s, the plant began to experience financial difficulties. In addition, at the same time, spontaneous demonstrations of residents of districts near the production began. The reason - the constant emissions from the factory, as they say - it was impossible even to hang the laundry on the street to dry, it immediately got dirty from soot dust.
Around the beginning of the 2000s, the plant closed completely. For some time the territory was guarded, then the guards were removed, and they began to actively steal everything that could be sold from the former factory.
The inscription on the plate - "Workshop of Exemplary Fire-Fighting Condition""
The inscription on the poster - "Who wants to do something, finds time and opportunities. Who does not want, finds a reason."
