Hey Steemit community!!!. My name is Carlos and I found out about Steem through my constant research in the cryptocurrency world (and a very big THANK YOU to David Kadavy and his posts. I'm from Venezuela and I used to work as a journalist (sports) a few years back in my home city of Maracay. Now, after rough years of economic and social debacle I decided to flee from there and settle in the city of Lima (Republic of Peru) with my wife.
Today it's my first month over here, same language and "latino culture" but at the same time with so much differences between us: food, customs, climate (very cold in August), music... Any country is as good as its people, and the peruvian people is among the best! Very polite people (I talk from my experience), kind and respectful. I feel very good here (even without proper winter clothes), specially talking about the food... If you like good food then Peru is the place to be!
After the first few days of settling and resting I landed a job as a kind of "Cryptocurrency community manager/Human Flipboard-Reddit/news feeder" for some asian investors on crypto with little time to spare in research and crypto price-checking. I got the job purely based on luck and some good rapport through a Telegram group with a now close pal. We're not talking about "big bucks" but you can live a normal life over here with the minimum wage: you can paying rent, services, public transportation and send some money to the family in your home country.
I hope to establish a good relationship with all of you while I look for news related to cryptocurencies and life over here. I decided to post in English to reach a wider audience (my first language is spanish), so I hope you can forgive my lack of vocabulary and grammar faults (no Google Translate over here hahahahaha If you want to improve you need to push yourself)
Take care
