When the first quarter of 2026 arrived, our manager mentioned holding our annual meeting to plan the tasks we need to accomplish this year. She told us the meeting place would be Puregold Duty Free Subic, located in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. It's about 30 minutes from my base store, so I needed to leave early to get there. I got to Ayala Malls Harbor Point on time, and we traveled to the meeting place together with the other internal auditors from different clusters.
When we got there, we had already started the meeting and were discussing concerns and queries regarding many issues in store operations. Then, our manager let us roam around the store to check out some items on sale.
We started checking the aisles for something to eat since it's almost lunchtime. There are a lot of chocolates on sale and a promo when we got there. Our manager told us lunch was ready in the meeting room, so we went back in to eat. We ordered some burger steak and pizza to energize us for the rest of the day.
After having our lunch, the meeting continued. We discussed the compliance audit reports we need to submit and the monthly performance targets we need to meet as auditors. We also received the 2026 Work Plan as our guideline for the whole year.
Our manager ended our meeting early and gave us some time to roam around the store again. We checked out other items on sale and bought some before clocking out of the store.
Finally, it's time to clock out and go home. I asked my co-auditors for a quick group photo before we hopped inside the car. We just shared a quick laugh and conversation, too. It was nice meeting them after a while.
