Hey fellow Jesscholars
In the world of cryptocurrency, we're used to having the price of assets skyrocket and plunge with no reason or rhyme, we've made peace with that fact and while you can do your technical analysis and look at external factors it's still pretty hard to predict what the price of any cryptocurrency will be.
Traditional assets have a more even distribution or artificially created even distribution so price fluctuations while there aren't as volatile. There is a certain acceptable price range for any of these assets, gold, stocks, bonds, real estate you name it.
But there is one asset we don't often look at that can command just about any price at any time and it doesn't even need to be of the highest quality and that is information.

Information can come at any price
The internet has given us access to plenty of information, much of it is completely useless which is why people give it away for free, sharing their thoughts on social media, creating memes, reacting to ideas and controversy and plenty of other lowest common denominator content that isn't going to do much for anyone but extract time.
This constant stream of useless information helps build a barrier between good information and creates a sort of scarcity for "high-value information". Which is why we pay educational institutes or saddle ourselves with debt to get that so-called higher education.
Information is powerful, we know this, it can be used by our minds to add value in unique ways, create new opportunities and build tools that better society and the world around us.
If you ever want to see how unregulated the price of information is, simply head over to Amazon, check the book department and look at the cheapest book price vs the highest book price, the difference in price simply mind-boggling.
Giving away your data
If you're still not convinced of the power of information then I encourage you to look at two of the biggest companies in the world. Facebook and Google, they're not a social media site or a search engine, they're a data mining and data selling repository.
You feed them all your information for free access to their tools, they, in turn, take that information and sell it on to advertisers at a cost per click rate and make Billions off of this trafficked information.
Which is why privacy has become such a big issue, why should these companies be allowed to profit alone off of all our contributions? Because we let them, of course, we did not and still don't value our own information or realise how to monetize it so we give it away to companies to benefit from, its that not insane?
Information is a wealth creation tool
Information is powerful but without action, it's completely useless.
Have you ever had an idea and sat on it only for someone else to execute it and profit from it?
Have you ever seen smart people you know not to attain success even with all that potential information and processing power they have?
Information gives us new perceptions but it doesn't give us the ability to act. That's why so many people lose faith in the value of information, to absorb it is one part, but to let it flow through you into action is where you really find the wealth information can provide.
Have your say
Do you invest in information? What information have you found and used it as an asset in your life?
Holla at me in the comments! All my commenters I will now refer to as Jessie. Jessie is a good friend of mine, but Jessies got a girl, and I want to make her mine.
So have at it my Jessies! If you don't have something to comment, simply comment "I am a Jessie."
