Growing up as a kid was one experience everyone had to go through
The funny thing about it is that we believed what ever we heard
So parents and older ones would always use that as an advantage to make you do what they want or what they didn't want us to do
I heard a funny experience which am going to share with you guys
Back then at home we weren't allowed to come outside in the evening from 8pm and at night for whatsoever reason
The reason was that we may be attacked by "Bush Baby"
We were told that Bush Baby was a baby monster that comes out at night looking for whom to devour at.
This would always scare us and we would never try coming out.
I grew up with that notion of bush baby being a baby monster.
Just recently I made a discussion with a friend and we talked about growing up as kids, i brought up the bush baby issue and he couldn't help but laugh so hard at me, then he told me that bush baby is not a baby that it is an animal.
At first I couldn't believe it till he showed me evidence, and for a very long time now I was thinking otherwise.
And so i decided to make a research about it.
The real name is Senegal galago,it is a small nocturnal animal. The origin of the name Bush baby was actually because it's cry sounds like that of a baby.
They are agile leapers and run swiftly along branches.
They live in Africa South of the Sahara desert near islands including Zanzibar.
This mammal produces twice a year at the beginning of the rains (November) and the end (February).
They are polygymous and the females raise their young in nests made from leaves.
They have 1-2 babies per litter, with gestation period being 110-120 days.
Bush babies are born with half closed eyes unable to move independently. After a few, the mother carries the infant in her mouth and leaves it on convenient branches while feeding.
They communicate both by calling at each other and by marking their paths with their urine.
They feed on a mixture of other small animals, including birds, fruits, seeds, flowers, eggs, nuts and tree-gums.
*Research also has it that this animal is being hunted down by Chimps while they are sleeping. *
For me the animal actually looks scary, no wonder it was always describe as one ugly monster.
Funny enough we did use to think that nobody can stand it's presence as it would fling any human being that it finds around.
Hahahahahahahahahaha, funny right?
That's the life of a growing child, very innocent and whatever you say if right unless proven otherwise.
Thanks for stopping by!
