”River Rock Composition No. 41” 22”x30” (#3309) watercolor on 300 lb. Arches paper
by Lee Gordon Seebach
This is a full-sheet watercolor which is quite large for the medium. Meaning, in order to paint a successful watercolor this size it requires planning.
I've developed my own step-by-step system for increasing my chances of success and which is presented in the 15-minute video below. It features the development of this painting from start to finish.
I once had the honor of painting on location with the late, great Paul Strisik. He kept up a steady stream of jokes and wisecracks. For example, "Watch out when you get your brush too close to your canvas: it can be a disaster!" 😂
