Games are educative and helps the mind reason very well.
Have you ever played the 'WHOT!
GAME?' If you have, did you appreciate any lesson from the game? Or were you just concerned about winning the game?
I not only enjoy playing some games, I also try hard to derive some life lessons from them. 'WHOT! GAME' is one of such games.
Before I proceed to tell you the fine lesson this game has taught me about life, I will love to give a background information about the game.
Whot is a game played with a set of non-standard cards in five suits: circles, crosses, triangles, stars and squares. It is a shedding game similar to Crazy Eights. At one point, the game was manufactured by John Waddington Ltd.
Early packs were printed with the slogans "a unique card game" and "a game for everyone". The name of the game is given an exclamation mark ("Whot!") on later packs. The card has been adapted into different formats; the most popular of them in Africa is the Nigerian Whot Game. It has been adapted into a multi-player game and it is been currently played in most homes in Nigeria and beyond.
Good games such as 'whot!' develops ones thinking ability or reasoning manner, but more to it, the game teaches a very fine lesson about life that I so much appreciate.
What is the lesson?
Don't be quick to expose your success in life because it is not everyone that rejoices at your success.
No wonder, once you say last card in the 'WHOT! GAME', you see your enemies coming out of the woods. All you will hear is pick two, pick four, general market, hold on..., some will even ask for what you don't have just to hinder your success.
So, be sure you can overcome all the attacks before displaying your last card.
Hence, when next you play this game, remember the lessons from it.
