God did not give us the power to know the future is only Him that has that power over us. God knows everything that will happen in this life because He is the creator of all the universe. Human attempts to predict or control the future, especially through divination or occult practices, are discouraged in Scripture because they shift trust away from God.
The bible teaches us that we should put our hope and trust to God because he is the only one who can decide our future. God may reveal certain things through His prophets or His Word, but this revelation is always for His purpose, not human curiosity.
“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever” (Deuteronomy 29:29).
The Bible also reminds us that our plans are limited, and we should depend on God’s will rather than claiming certainty about tomorrow. Life is uncertain, and humility is required when thinking about the future.
“Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth” (Proverbs 27:1).
