I remember when I used to struggle to speak. I would stammer, lose my words, and shrink into silence. I wasn’t bold, I wasn’t confident, and I certainly didn’t see myself as a writer.
Social media? I avoided it. Writing? I didn’t follow it. But everything changed the moment I stepped into OAU to study Guidance and Counseling.
I became eager to learn, and for the first time, I saw the power of knowledge and communication. Taking a course in writing and public speaking flipped the switch for me. I stopped seeing social media as a place for distractions and started using it to share my voice.
Balancing academics with social media wasn’t easy, but I knew one thing—I needed guidance. I didn’t sit around waiting for someone to notice me. I didn’t flood influencers’ inboxes, begging them to coach me. No! I made a decision. I invested in learning, took courses, applied what I learned, and practiced consistently.
That’s how I grew. Because in the writing industry, those who "do" get results, those who wait, don’t.
Maybe you’ve been watching from the sidelines, unsure of where to start. Maybe you’ve doubted if you can ever find your voice. But here’s the truth: If you take action today, your story can change.
Do you need a writing coach who will guide and hold you accountable? Are you ready to move from uncertainty to confidence?

Becoming Relevant in Ever-Changing Times as a Writer
Relevance is not a gift; it is a decision made daily.
The world is constantly shifting, trends rise and fade, audiences evolve, and attention spans grow thinner. In such times, a writer who desires relevance must become intentional. It is not about chasing every trend, but about understanding the times without losing your voice.
A relevant writer listens before speaking. They observe culture, discern real needs, and write with purpose. While many focus on what is popular, the impactful writer focuses on what is necessary, because necessity leaves a lasting mark.
Growth is non-negotiable. The writer of yesterday cannot sustain today’s audience. You must learn, unlearn, and relearn. Read widely, stay informed, and embrace technology as a tool rather than a distraction. The pen now lives on screens, and relevance requires adaptation.
However, authenticity remains your anchor. In the rush to fit in, many lose their originality. But true relevance is not found in imitation,it is found in expression. Your voice is your identity; refine it, but never replace it.
Consistency sustains relevance. Showing up, even when unnoticed, builds mastery and trust. Relevance is not a one-time achievement but a continuous rhythm.
Ultimately, relevance is tied to impact. Write to serve, to solve, and to reach. When your words meet real needs, they outlive trends.
Stay rooted, yet flexible, and you won’t just follow the times, you will shape them.
