During my short month on steemit I've noticed an unfortunate pattern within myself. When payouts are good, I'm feeling great! Money is basically growing on trees and life is awesome! But then I create a post that gets less than a dollar and my excitement quickly turns to disappointment. It is embarrassing to admit, but I know others are in the same boat.
Why are we so quick to adapt to this extra money?
Before steemit, this money didn't even exist. So why is it so easy to become greedy and relient on it? I think humans are naturally wired to exist with a certain famine mentality that urges us to use up resources while they are present, because they might not be there in the future. With that in mind, we should all try to celebrate the high payouts when they come along and not become so disappointed when things are slower.
We are winning the lottery on a frequent basis without risking our own money on a losing ticket.
If you start to think of steemit posts as lottery tickets then you will slowly realize that the odds are greatly in your favor. Plus you don't have to hate yourself when that $5 investment becomes a loss. We're ALL winners in this!
So sit back, relax, and STOP getting hung up on the rewards of your posts.
Were all in a very lucky position so be happy! Cheers my friends!
