If you haven't heard of Ambrosus, it's probably because Ambrosus hasn't succumbed to the flashy marketing techniques of some of the other players in the ICO space.
Launching their ICO just over two months ago, and raising over 109500 ETH (95+ MIL USD at the time of writing), Ambrosus has quietly stayed under the radar.
19 days ago, CEO of Ambrosus, Angel Versetti, did an AMA on Reddit providing investors with some valuable information on where the company is heading.
Since then, the word on Ambrosus has slowly started to trickle out, and it won't be long until the floodgates burst.
What is Ambrosus
Ambrosus is a supply chain solutions company with a focus on food and pharmaceuticals.
Using blockchain technology, Ambrosus will not only provide tracking solutions but also, quality control, various sensors to track the condition of goods, data processing, apps, and even a commodities market.
From their white paper:
The Ambrosus network is a blockchain-based ecosystem for supply chains, ensuring the origin, quality, compliance and proper handling of items tracked b the network. Ambrosus’ primary focus is on improving supply chains for life-essential products, specifically food and medicine, although the protocol can be applied to almost any complex supply chain. Up until now, supply chain data is processed in massive data silos. This is expensive, slow, and difficult to manage when multiple companies need to access the data.
Until now, supply chain data is processed in massive data silos. This is expensive, slow, and difficult to manage when multiple companies need to access the data.
Using blockchain technology, Ambrosus aims to streamline the entire supply chain process and enable the data to be accessed by anyone who needs it.
Manufacturing companies today have data silos where data is stored in local databases and excel sheets. It is extremely expensive and cumbersome for cross organizational data use eg. in the case of process analysis, compliance with new regulations, etc.
However, Ambrosus is obviously not the only company out there attempting to do this.
What Sets Ambrosus Apart From The Competition
In my opinion, what sets Ambrosus Apart From the Competition is their sensor technology.
Moving food around the world, especially meat and dairy, requires various measurements to be taken such as temperature.
Ambrosus has a lab in Switzerland where they, partnered with various sensor companies, are developing sensors that can speak directly to their blockchain. These measurements will be available to anyone who needs them in real time.
The current way this is done is slow and unreliable, and Ambrosus is the only company out there building these new sensors.
Pharmaceutical Industries require sensors to have special certifications that ensure reliability of measurements. To aid the development and installation of compatible sensors that can directly speak to Ambrosus Blockchain and Distributed data system, Ambrosus has set up a lab to integrate sensors from some of the most reputed sensor manufacturer around the world.
By having a repository of appropriate sensors, Ambrosus can help advise partner companies to install the latest state of the art sensors to improve the quality of the data fed into the system. Ambrosus has set up a state of the art research lab in Lausanne that is currently interacting with various Sensor Manufacturers and developing the hardware so that these sensors can directly talk to Ambrosus Distributed data management systems.
Why I Think Ambrosus is a Good Buy
- Although the price of AMB did go up after the Reddit AMA, the coin has largely gone unnoticed due to the lack of marketing. I think the herd could arrive at any moment and cause a massive pump, especially with big announcements on the way in Q1 2018.
- Ambrosus have confirmed talks with Nestle and Migros (Swiss grocery chain). If either of these deals go ahead, I expect a major pump.
- While the market has largely ignored AMB, they have secured deals with Trek Therapeutics (pharma company) and Biofarm AG (meat testing company).
- The Ambrosus team looks solid with key individuals having connections and talking with the Swiss Government, The United Nations, Nestle, and other big players.
- Current market cap at the time of writing is just over $100 Mil USD, which is a paltry sum considering what this company plans to do.
Upcoming Announcements to be Made in the Near Future (JAN/FEB)
- A new version of their platform
- Official opening of the sensor lab
- New Website
- A deal with the United Nations 10 year food programme
- Possible announcements with major companies and public authorities
Conclusion
I think this company can do big things in 2018. The team looks good, the tech looks good, and if they can get those deals done … I don't want to say moon, but I did.

Disclaimer
I own some AMB
I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed (translation: I'm not that smart), and I'm also Greek. Don't trust me. Do your own research, and never buy anything based on what someone said on the internet.
