Adoption is very wonderful and the best decision any human can make. It is not just about bringing a child into a home but rather about giving the child a sense of belonging and showing the child love and care. It is not easy to adopt a child recently; the process is too long, expensive and stressful. The majority of prospective parents face frustration trying to adopt a child; many give up. That is why people keep asking, 'Should adoption rules be less strict so that these kids can find homes?'
Late last year my parent went to adopt a child, but the process was so stressful and the money was too expensive; they couldn’t afford the money to take a child home. The majority of the kids in the orphanage are there without a permanent home or family. I believe if adopting is made less expensive and less stressful, many of the kids will find a home, and they will be given a sense of belonging. They will experience what family life looks like.
These rules may look strict, and we will think that they are created to punish prospective parents. Well, most of these rules exist to protect these kids. The government and the adoption agencies want to make sure that these kids are well taken care of and that the new family is capable of giving them a comfortable life. They will go as far as doing background checks on the people that adopt the child. They are doing all these things to make sure that these kids will not be abused by the prospective parent.
Previously adoption was not hard due to weakness of safeguards; there were cases where adopted kids were abused and neglected all because there was no proper screening before giving the child to the new family. That is why the process was made stressful; if it’s easy, it will endanger the life of the children. Many times it seems that some adoptive systems are unnecessary because there are some people with good intentions, but due to too many rules, they will give up. It is very important that the look out for these kids; the authority should try and make it fair and efficient. The requirement for adoption should be on what matters the most, such as safety, emotional stability and so on.
In all no family is perfect; even biological parents are not screened by our creator before being given a child. We are not looking for a perfect home but rather a safe place with love and care. To be honest, adoption rules should be protective and not make things hard. Of course, they deserve safety; they also deserve the privilege to grow up in families. Every child deserves to be happy; they should experience love, care, comfort and family. The rules should be fair so that these kids will have a sense of belonging.
