I can’t even imagine a life without a smartphone; they have become part of us. For me, they are more than communication devices: they serve different purposes in our lives. From the comfort of your home, you can run transactions, cameras, maps and so on. Smartphones have really become part of us. For someone like me, I start up the day with my phone and end the day with my phone. My smartphone is part of my daily routine. Imagine life without smartphones – it is one big thing that is not possible. Thinking about how life can be without a smartphone, do you think we will suffer without a smartphone? Or we will find our way around life without smartphones.
Life without smartphones will be boring; communication will be hard. I remember during the days of our forefathers there was nothing like smartphones. Communication was so slow because they could only communicate through talking drums or the post office. Without smartphones, life will be so stressful; communication will be more of physical meetings. One thing for sure is distractions will be less. There are so many people who are ready to stay the whole day scrolling through their phones. I have a friend that came up to me one day and asked me how we got to this point where anything about us is smartphones, but the big question is, have smartphones been solving most of our problems?
Since the introduction of smartphones, we find it hard to have quality interaction with people. On several occasions I have sat out with my friends, and every one of us focuses on our phones, and anything we try to keep out of our eyes is over the screen before you know what is happening – a notification will pop up. Smartphones have really come in between family time; no matter the disadvantage, life without a smartphone will be boring.
If there is no smartphone, we will not have access to information. With the help of smartphones, information is accessible most times. I will ask myself, what will life be like without a smartphone? In my final years in the university, I use my phone to write my project just at the comfort of my home; if not, I could have spent day and night in the library searching for materials for my project. With smartphones, life is made easy.
In all life without smartphones would not be nice. Smartphones have brought life, joy and opportunities; thousands of businesses have grown online platforms, and many people study online. Digital banking made everything easy for the banking sector; communication becomes stronger; you can connect with people within your locality and out of your locality. The benefit of smartphones is massive, and turning it away will create serious problems.
Not minding the advantage of smartphones, some people depend on smartphones; they can’t stay an hour out of their phones. The majority feel uncomfortable sitting without scrolling through their phones because of how addicted humans are to smartphones. I always tell people that the issue we are having is not smartphones but the way we humans choose to use the smartphone. Smartphones are nothing but tools, and not controlling our lives without smartphones will be slow, boring and unfamiliar.
