This year I came back to my hometown, Petrópolis, after nearly 5 years living in Rio.
Being back here was a mix of feelings, and one of them was my passion for skateboarding, of course. However, we do not have a proper skatepark yet.
The most recent one, which is pretty ok for a city that has never had a proper space for skating, is far from the center of the city and only works from 9 to 18, from Wednesday to Sunday. And what about the workers or even children who do not have money or allowance of the parents to take an hour bus?
Because of that, I and some friends united to form #skatepetropolis. Our first action was to reform and paint the local spot in the center of the city, which isn't good yet but it got a lot better already.
