A response post to
Let me first quote something by Neville Goddard: Excerpted from his lecture "Consciousness is the only reality"
- "Let me state now that the Bible has no reference at all to any persons who ever existed or to any event that ever occurred upon earth."
- "The ancient story tellers were not writing history but an allegorical picture lesson of certain basic principles which they clothed in the garb of history, and they adapted these stories to the limited capacity of a most uncritical and credulous people."
- "Throughout the centuries we have mistakenly taken personifications for persons, allegory for history, the vehicle that conveyed the instruction for the instruction, and the gross first sense for the ultimate sense intended"....
Now, I wish to offer a different interpretation of some of the Bible quotes that you shared with us on your post. So here I go:
"This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand."
- The author is speaking about himself. About the fact that he doesn't just outright writes the Secret of the Bible with words that anyone would understand.
"There are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.) And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father."
"After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him."
- John 6:64-66
- BELIEF is required to accomplish anything and everything in Life. Belief comes in many forms: Mental Attitude, Actions, Words.
- Jesus represents the state where we have already achieved our desires. The Father represents our Mind. Unless the Mind accepts the state of Desire already Achieved, it cannot achieve it.
- Many disciples turning back represents the fact that people don't put themselves in the state where their desire is already achieved. Meaning that they don't achieve it, meaning that the're no longer walking with Jesus.
"They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart."
- Ephesians 4:18
- Imagination is God and God creates everything out of Itself. When a man has a "hardness of heart", he doesn't pay attention to his own Imagination, and so he is "alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them".
"For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened."
- Romans 1:21
- Altough they knew Imagination, they did not know it is God, nor honor It(which is to Use it), nor give thanks to It. So their God was futile to them, and they became unhappy.
"And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him."
- Hebrews 11:6
- Until you Know that your Imagination is God you will not Use It righteously. And until you do that, you will not please God and you won't be rewarded by Him.
Just another opinion
I'm still young in the study of Neville Goddards teaching, so I may not know how to correctly interpret every quote of the Bible, but I wanted to share some interpretations that I do believe to be correct.
I do not claim them to be correct, but I do believe them to be correct.
It's just another's random guy on the internet perspective.
Thanks
Thank you for taking your time to read it and I do appreciate any kind of feedback. So let's start a conversation. Comment with some of your own interpretation regarding the given Bible quotes.
