Hello STEEMIT FAMILY!
As and I are GIGANTIC Sushi Lovers, we decided to make some kick-ass Sushi yesterday
We had planned our meeting around 3'ish, but, as I was quite lazy that day because I came home around 6 AM the night before, I didn't buy the fish yet. So, I've decided to leave a key under the doormat and went to some shops for fresh fish (which is something really hard to get here in Cracow by the way).
And, what you think, lucky me! Today, there was fresh Tuna, Salmon and Smoked Salmon available in one of the shops... PERFECT!!
So, let me share the list of ingredients we used:
- Carrot
- Cucumber
- Avocado
- Mango (yes, you read this good, MANGO!)
- Chives
- Tuna
- Salmon
- Smoked Salmon
- Sushi Rice
- Nori (seaweed)
- White cheese/cream/mayonnaise (believe me, perfect combination)
And additionally, not to forget:
- Fresh wasabi
- Soy sauce (the less salty one)
This is how we succeeded:
- We chopped the vegetables and fish into quite thin pieces
- We cooked the rice
- We prepared the nori on the table
- We spread the rice on the nori and left two fingers of space empty (to close the rolls)
- Added vegetables and fish
- Added a bit of mixture of the mayonnaise, cream cheese, cream
- Some water on the empty part of the nori
- Closed the rolls
- DONE!
As and his misus were still virgin in sushi-making, it made the whole experience even more fun... We have laughed off our asses while preparing the first rolls of Sushi. But, at the end... the result was surprisingly VERY good as you can see below:
Then it was (finally) time to prepare for dinner, and... what is good Sushi, without a good, sweet wine.. served by
..? EXACTLY!!
And it seems that we were not the only ones who were hungry..
At last, but not least..... the Sushi's which weren't qualified for being eaten... Unfortunate, but true...
Such evenings are just a reminder on how important it is to have amazing friends, and it let you really appreciate the good things in life, and now I think about it, I remember a sentence in Dutch where we say 'Family is what you have and cannot change, but a good friend is someone you can choose yourself'.
If you have never made Sushi before, I dare you! Invite good friends over and believe me, it will be an unforgettable experience!
Thanks for reading this post, and if you have some time left, check out my other posts as well!
I would love to know what you think about my music and compositions. If you have any advice or critique I would love to hear it in the comments below!
Honestly music is my way of living and I believe that music itself makes us better people. This is my way of contributing to the community and the world itself.
