Today we celebrated Sam's first birthday! A big day, also for a grandmother like me!
I have a very wise daughter and she and her partner invited only a few people and only for two hours, from 12 till 2 pm. The grandparents were there, a few uncles and aunts, nephews and nieces and one good friend with her husband and children.
And of course, there was a big cake!
For once, Sam was allowed to eat cake with cream etc. and he loved it!!

After he ate the cake, his mother took him on her lap but he was watching the cake and would have loved to eat more.
He got a lot of presents, but he didn't have much interest for the presents. That will change over the years of course, but now the paper was more interesting than the gift itself.
My two granddaughters were also present. They played with one of Sam's new toys, Duplo!

So much 'work' makes a man hungry, even a little man!
Sam loves food, he eats everything, on the picture he is eating pumpkin soup, his other grandmother made a pan full of pumpkin soup for the guests.
We had a very pleasant afternoon, tiring, but pleasant!
