Hundreds of activists around the U.S. were arrested yesterday as a 40 day campaign to implement the demands and visions of Martin Luther King began on the 50th Anniversary of the original Poor People's Campaign. The campaign will highlight and educate issues about civil rights, poverty, and public infrastructure and ask why in the U.S. there are 140 million people low income and suffering the pillages of a corporate state? It's demanding a return to public investment and communities and an end to the culture of violence and war. Also emphasis of children, women, and people with disabilities.
