We've been doing a few different things lately with the little man's education desires.
Getting Artsy
One of the things that our son, the little man, has been doing is spending more time in his artistic desires. It's awesome because I wasn't sure if he was going to be too interested in doing it. I know that things with them wax and wane but I wanted to make sure that he still enjoyed art since that's an important piece of development in my opinion.
One of the programs we have him in has some really interesting things they do with the kids but this one affected him in a different way. He came home and wanted to do all kinds of painting! I was glad because I enjoy doing it with him now, once we got past the stage of getting the paint all over the floor lol.
We have plenty of little art supplies and paints and stuff so we knew we had the stuff ready when he was. We didn't have any set thing to paint so we were just playing around with doing it. He was aiming for something colorful, that's for sure! I was just drawing circles and all that with the colors, trying not to mix the colors together.
I don't know how I ended up with an arrow head but that's what it turned out to be lol. He was having a bit of fun mixing the different colors on both his plate as well as in the water. He was amazed that putting the paint on the paintbrush then dipping it in the water was changing the color of the water each time we did it. He was even playing a little bit with using different types of paint brushes like the Q-tip and how those would change the look of the drawing.
Overall, it's been a fun couple weeks. I've been able to get more into helping him with some things like learning letters and we have spent more time doing art-related things. I find it valuable to help him do this stuff since it's time we spend together doing that instead of cleaning, me cooking or doing other household chores. The chores are good and all but I want him to know that we can spend time doing things that are fun as well, not always doing something work-related.
