My wife picked up a new hobby about a month and a half ago. Sourdough baking. She's been experimenting with all different types of bread loaves. Even muffins. The woman is on a mission.
She just baked a multi-cheese pretzel loaf. That seems to be my favorite so far. Look at that thing. I'm a lucky man.
When she's baking, the whole house smells incredible. There's something about fresh bread that makes a home feel like a home. You walk in and it just hits you.
I don't know the science behind it. Don't care. I just know it's good.
Here's the cool thing. She bakes using recipes that are as good as can be for my blood sugars. Even my physician said sourdough is one of the better breads for diabetics. Something about how it ferments breaks down the sugars differently. Just in moderation and at the right times based on my glucose levels. But still. I get to eat fresh baked bread and not wreck myself. That's a win.
She's been looking for a new hobby for a while now. This is something she really enjoys. On top of her flowers, she's got something to keep her hands busy and her mind working.
And I get to be the taste tester. I'm not complaining. She's made some bang up stuff so far. And she's just getting started.
Thanks for reading,
Joe
