I have decided to share all my experiences every week to help promote steemit. I believe there are more to do for a steemian after joining steemit than just inviting them to join. The fact still remains that anyone can join steemit and start posting but not everyone will grasp everything and make it here on steemit.
Week by week I will try out my best to come out with issues of importance and share my experiences on how I have dealt with those issues. I believe this would be very helpful to someone who just begun the journey on steemit.
This week I would like focus on these questions that I used to ask myself when I begun my journey on steemit:
HOW CAN I THRIVE EASILY ON STEEMIT?
I had a whole lot of questions that took me some time before getting answers when started afresh on steemit. It was like visiting a tourist site without a tourist guard, can you imagine how that experience would be? or like traveling to unknown site without a map.
Did you experience that yourself? I guess many of us did, especially when you have never read about the steemit white paper and if even you did, I think some issues are better understood when you become acquainted with the steemit platform.
Everybody here wants to succeed and make it big on steemit, however it is important to know that achieving success takes time. Steemit is not a get rich quick community, and people need to get that.
It pays you when you have put in more effort to learn and make useful contributions to the platform.
I have seen an improvement which wasn't so when I started and here is what I discovered to have helped me and will be helpful to many as well:
I decided to be consistent
To control the frequency of my publications
Be Consistent
Steemit is unpredictable a times, sometimes it is hard to know a post that will easily trend. I have seen people staying away from active work because what they thought would trend never did. I realised that consistency is one of the keys to achieving success here on steemit. The platform is busy all the time and requires users to also be active. Being active and consistent with your work eventually gets you the recognition and the kind of audience you have always yearned for.
Control the Frequency of Your Publications
Consistency does not mean posting more than you should, it's about being regular and showing evenness. Many steemians post more than they should and end up just posting anything. Many post don't get you more votes and more rewards. More effort should be focused on how to improve on yourself and build a strong support for your work than just throwing post here and there and unless you have something good to put across it is better not to post. I realised it is more advisable to do at least one or two post a day as a minnow and to spend more time thinking outside the box. There is a need to go beyond just posting to earn and to also focus more on other things that will give you influence on steemit.
WHAT SHOULD I POST?
Then there is this question which I see as a general problem to all. The point where you really don't know what to write, and short of ideas. I started posting every two days and then proceeded to posting everyday. Here is what I did:
I decided to focus on sharing more about my experiences
I decided to write about what I understand
It is Helpful to Share Your Daily Experiences
It is easier interacting on steemit when you share your experiences. I have come across that many times on steemit.
We always come across many things in our daily interactions with people at home, work, and even on steemit. A number of people here are ready to read about such experiences. There is no need to get stuck and stay out of active work when you have encountered something which is worth sharing. I mostly blog about life because life is a great teacher and has taught me many things. On life issues, I have many things to tell. What you do have to share?
Write About what You Understand
There are a lot of articles which talk about posting quality work on steemit. Many of such articles describes a quality work as : well researched, well written, very lenthy. For me quality is not only about how lengthy the post should be, how thoroughly you have researched on the post and how well you have written the post but also how well you understood the topic which you wrote on. There are many intellectuals here, experts who are good in their respective fields who know and understand issues better than you. It is always advisable to write about what you really understand.
Many steemians write on anything and it is easy to be noticed by experts as a naive who lacks adequate knowledge about a particular subject or topic. it has taken me sometime before understanding many terms here, what really helped me was to always ask for clarification and always read to discover more for myself. On steemit you have to read more and discover more. Think about topics, issues, ideas you understand better and you will definitely have something to always.
