Pop quiz time y'all! Get your typing fingers ready and no cheating! Shouldn't be too difficult, there's only one question and it's of the fuzzy sort that have no right or wrong answers. Since I'm not getting paid for this there will be no grading going on either.

Pop Quiz Question 1
What is freedom to you?
See? Told you it'd be easy. There's as many different answers as there are people I suspect, I'm just interested to see all the different interpretations y'all have. I'll start things off and say that freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose.
Those guys make it sound so good, how can you argue with that? On a few occasions I've found myself with my last 'give a damn' expended and it was quite liberating.

One of the regular chants at the protests is "This is what democracy looks like!" I assume it's referencing us marching in the streets but I think the clouds of tear gas and cops in riot gear are a more accurate depiction of democracy. All these photos are from March 13th, the one year anniversary of LMPD's killing of Breonna Taylor. The day before, the Kentucky General Assembly had passed a law making it a crime to insult a police officer (not that they really needed the law, they just called it disorderly conduct when I flipped one the bird years ago).

I recently read this article about what is quite possibly a miscarriage of justice (how's that for a mouthful of euphemism?). The guy's comments on freedom after nearly 32 years in prison got me to thinking about it and is what inspired this post.

So what's freedom to you? Where does freedom come from? Drop me a comment and let me know what you think.
(In descending order, photos are: 1. Police spotlight beneath the upper levels of the courthouse 2. Rooftop gawkers of the SWAT team variety 3. Protesters leave Injustice Square Park on a march 4. Protest security stands outside the barricaded Louisville Jail 5. Rooftop gawkers of the (apparently) civilian variety)
