We just arrived in Guadalajara a couple days ago. A short walk from our new Airbnb is this restaurant we found called Organic Now. Maddie isn't able to eat gluten so I found this restaurant by searching Yelp for "Gluten-free restaurants."
We didn't really know what to expect when coming here (as is usually the case) because there wasn't a lot of information about the restaurant online. It sounded like it was both a store and a restaurant but that's all we knew.
You walk in the front doors and are greeted by a small store where they're selling a nice variety of healthy foods. After you walk through it to the back, you'll find their restaurant.
To give you an idea of the prices, $75 pesos is about $4.00 USD. It's rare to find a 100% gluten-free restaurant, so it's always a treat for Maddie when we come across one. She almost never gets to have pizza or pancakes, so we got a plate of each and shared both entrees.
We ended up getting two entrees and a desert. The total came out to $185 pesos or about $10 USD. Both plates were bursting with flavor and that is hard to do while also making it gluten-free.
We loved this restaurant so much that we'll probably go back there quite a few more times while we're here in Guadalajara. In fact, we're heading back there as soon as I finish writing this post!
Whether we're traveling or trying to find a place to live, having an affordable and tasty allergy-friendly restaurant nearby is a huge selling point for us. We might stay here a while ;)
