Facebook is not all bad...
I actually quite like it when it shows me what I posted a year ago.
As I'm sitting here at my laptop, I see this post of January 4, 2017 in my feed:
Amazing how much can change in one year
I knew no one who was interested in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies a year ago (apart from plenty of MLM "crypto" people... In fairness - all their marketing prompted me to check out the actual Bitcoin properly).
When I bought my first Bitcoin I did it in secret. I didn't tell anyone. It was a secret easily kept, because nobody knew about it anyway. Or was remotely interested. To properly share it, I would have had to explain them first what it is (I did try!) only to have them judge me a minute later, that I spent - wait how much??? - on one Bitcoin.
I bought my first Bitcoin for $900.
The funny thing is, when I tell people now how much I paid for my first Bitcoin, they ask the same question: "Wait - how much???" Only by now, this translates to how little.
And then I haven't even mentioned Dash yet...
One year later
...I am running the Bitcoin Group of Berlin, I'm a Dash Ambassador, my Crypto Mentoring Programme for women apparently comes up when people google "Blockchain & Consciousness" (wooohooo!!) and even my landlord hired me for a consulting session. Plus, I have a number of BBF's now - Best Bitcoin Friends.
And let's not forget the gift of having found Steemit.
