Last night we started building a mock flower to test whether reversing the growth of our plant would help make the process a bit faster.
We completed the clay model by about 3pm and after I out the wee man to sleep we banged out 360 frames in about 3 hours and the results were good.
The final animation will contain more movement, particularly the parts of the plant which are not growing but in this short test look lifeless.
We also build a bunch of smaller models, namely a wasp which will pollinate the flower and a mouse which will interact with the frowning stem.
(Coloured and processed)
Tomorrow looks to be a pre production planning day, we feel the tests were successful enough to move forward with whiteboards and clay. We will be looking through the track frame by frame and devising an animation plan which I will post for anyone following this project.
I hope it works as a sort of drawn out and interactive tutorial.
All the best,
Cotton.
