We've just came off of Inktober, an annual celebration to the ink medium, thousands of artists submit a sketch a day to a topic. It's a great exercise for developing storytelling skills, as well as flexibility when it comes to subject matter. My favorite topics are those that are broad enough to paint a landscape, yet particular enough to detail the sky. Inktober is 31 days, 31 topics, each day post a sketch, drawing, painting, or musing in ink on paper with the artist's interpreting the numbered topic.
Here's a recap!
Throughout November, I'll revisit some of these preliminary sketches for Inktober in future work for my upcoming monograph (read: catalog). It is the continued support of loyal enthusiasts, fellow artisans, and casual curators that keep independent artists , like myself, alive.
Thanks,
C.H
