Hey everyone what an incredible blessing it is to be a bee-keeper. I have been doing this for 4 years now and what an adventure it has been!
A secret of catching swarms is to make their new home as attractive as possible. We do this by adding either old wax combs from other hives or putting new wax foundation supers in as well as bating with honey. If they find this to be acceptable and there is a nectar flow generally they will move in.
One can always be sure of an abundant honey flow when bees swarm (move house) as they would not otherwise do so unless there was an abundance of food to help them rebuild their new "residence'
We recently captured these bees next to our tennis court. SURPRISINGLY as we are not in season currently but a most welcome blessing.
These combs below are old and infested with wax moth we simply put out for the birds to clean up.
Nature the incredible.
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Love light and blessings.
Cheer$;)
