Well not quite but another project I seem to be wanting to start, I signed up for second life. Why? I don't really know, I have been part fo the SL community before but I stopped because I was so busy doing other stuff, now I thought im older and maybe its a good time to get back into it.
I don't game so this is a good alternative I am guessing where it is kind of gaming, but the main question I have is can I create a sustainable steemit community on second life in 365 days?
Second life has been about for many years now, but there are other VR worlds now available, however many are dedicated to VR headsets.
I don't use a headset I prefer the comfort of my own computer. I guess you wonder why I am doing this, well I don't know if this will catch on or not but my theory is I talk to many people on discord already and would it not be nice if we could see each other virtually.
I mean sure there are plenty meets ups going on, but none close to me. I wondered who else might also have this problem and might also want to try out something like this. It is just an experiment after all, but I figured if I could set up some regular meeting place for people who are interested its worth giving it a try.
Sometimes its nice to voice chat in nice surroundings online than just looking at a chat box.
What is second life.
Second life is a online Virtual Reality community, that is available online with out the need of using VR headsets. However I understand that occulus rift supports this format also. It is free to join, you can also get premium I think $6 a month is what it costs but you do get a property with that.
Its pretty easy to set up go to secondlife.com to set up an account, the avatars are premade and you can always change them later on. Which is better when I first started a few years ago you had to make your own, which was a bit of a mess on, now it seems easier.
Second life is supported on Mac, Windows and Linux the world load is very little, I think it was 120 mb download, but I have no idea about graphics and processors.
I think I will do a walk through of what happens when you arrive.
As there are some really cool features that help you with your second life journey, but I think I found a decent meeting place in SL world called Lanville Village, which I am not sure if its new but its completely empty of people. So it could be the place to hangout and chat with each other.

So guys I will stay in Lanville Village now and if you want to join me, join up and come and meet me in Lanville. We also have mic's in there to chat to each other also, lets see where this experiment takes us in the future, SL really is as new to me as it will be for others.
Maybe you are in second life already, if you are find me. My name on SL is Padrama, I am going to see if I can change it to my steemit name, I am not sure yet if I am able to or not. It would be easier as my sole intention for SL is for steemit gatherings.

Anyway guys I am going to go off and wander, I will do another post in due course about setting up, but if you are interested its not that hard to work out.
