We are the Architects of our own happiness.
We all want to experience happiness, does not matter our age or gender, our religion or believes, but where do we get happiness from? Do we depend on others to make us happy, does riches, fame and education make us happy? We have all heard the expression, “Fake it, till you make it”, don’t we often see this in people we think must be happy because they have everything life can offer, or they are “born with the silver spoon in their mouths” so we assume they ought to be happy.
Happiness does not fall in your lap, it is a conscious decision, it comes from within, we need to create it by reaching out to others with love, by appreciating the small and simple things in life, by improving who we are through studies and engaging in things that will lift our spirits and help us grow for the better.
Happiness lies in our attitude towards life and people, and gratitude for all we have. Do we take the time every day to appreciate the beauty around us, do we listen to the sounds of nature, allowing it to feed our souls and help us to reconnect with our inner beings? For me there is nothing more rewarding in the early morning than to wake up to the sound of the birds and a beautiful sunrise. Take the time to appreciate the little things in life, give out the little things, a smile or a hug can brighten someones day!
We need to set goals and work towards them with all we have, if we do not have these in place we will be like that little boat, stuck in the middle of a huge ocean without a sail or ores to help get us to our destination, just floating along with the flow could take us forever or in a direction we wish we never went in.
